Overview

Did you know the Aquarium is home to more than 10 species of turtles, and most of them live behind the scenes?

During this exclusive 30-minute experience, you’ll head into our herpetology holding area to see freshwater turtles of all shapes and sizes. Discover how we prepare their specialized diets and observe a live training session as one of our resident turtles chooses to leave its habitat for a painting enrichment activity.

You’ll even take home a one-of-a-kind masterpiece created by the turtle you met; it’s a truly unforgettable souvenir from your encounter.

A Turtle Encounter does NOT include general admission. Admission must be purchased separately.
You must be at least 8 years old to participate in an Animal Encounter.
Participants must be able to sit/stand and walk up/down stairs without assistance.
This program does not include any tactile interaction with a turtle (touching).
Bookings are non-refundable. Encounters can be rebooked upon requests made at least 24 hours before the program’s start time. Rebooking is not permitted for no-shows, late arrivals, or requests made within 24 hours of the program’s start time.
