Overview

Ever wonder what it takes to train a turtle? Join the Aquarium’s talented team of aquarists for a special training and feeding session with the Aquarium’s resident softshell turtle, Sadie.

During this 30 minute experience, you’ll go behind the scenes to see our life support systems and animal holding spaces (where you’ll meet turtles that don’t live in the public gallery), visit our animal commissary to check out how we prepare our animal diets, and see firsthand the many actions we take to ensure positive wellbeing for all of our animals.

For the second half of your experience, you’ll assist our talented aquarists during a feeding and training session with Sadie (she really loves her earthworms)!

You’ll leave with a new appreciation of this incredible animal, and be well-equipped with ways you can help protect turtles everywhere.

This program does NOT include admission. General admission must be purchased separately.
You must be at least 8 years old to participate.
Participants must be able to walk up ramps and use a step stool.
No heels or sandals.
This program includes close proximity to seafood, and anyone with a seafood allergy is discouraged from participating.
Bookings are non-refundable. This program can be rebooked upon requests made at least 24 hours before the program’s start time. Rebooking is not permitted for no-shows, late arrivals, or requests made within 24 hours of the program’s start time.
