ACCESSIBILITY

we hope you enjoy your visit

The Aquarium of Niagara is committed to improving accessibility and removing barriers to participation for all visitors.

Accessible parking spaces are available in the first row of the Aquarium’s main parking lot.

The accessible entrance is located at the rear of the Aquarium. Follow the path to the right of the building when approaching the building from the parking lot. Ring the bell to be welcomed and accompanied to the Guest Experience counter.

There is an elevator located directly across from the accessible entrance that can be used to access the second floor.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for visitor use. Please request a wheelchair upon check in at the Guest Experience counter. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis with a photo ID.

Trained service animals are welcome in the building in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Under the ADA, “a service animal is a dog that has been individually trained to work or perform tasks for assisting a person with a disability.” Service dogs are working animals, not pets. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Pets, comfort animals, emotional support or therapy animals are not permitted in the aquarium.

Please notify our Guest Experience team of your service animal’s presence upon arrival.

Sensory headphones are available by request at the Guest Experience desk.

Our busiest hours are from 11am to 3:30pm. If you would prefer to visit the Aquarium with fewer people, try visiting outside these hours. We also tend to welcome fewer guests on weekdays than on weekends.

The Aquarium hosts a special evening for families impacted by autism spectrum disorder twice a year. AuSome Aquarium is an after-hours event that features special programming and enables visitors to interact with our exhibits in a supportive environment.

The Aquarium partners with Deaf Access Services to offer ASL interpretation of our feedings and presentations during a scheduled weekend in September.

Families with strollers can use the accessible entrance located at the rear of the Aquarium. Ring the bell to be welcomed and accompanied to the Guest Experience counter. There is an elevator located directly across from the accessible entrance that can be used to access the second floor.

Please note: The Aquarium does not currently have a place to store your stroller while you visit.

Breastfeeding is welcome in the Aquarium. There are currently no private breastfeeding or lactation areas available.

There are child changing tables located in both the men and women’s restrooms, which are located on the first floor next to M&T Bank Shark & Ray Bay.
