BIRDS ON THE NIAGARA

celebrating notable birds of the region

Overview

From February 17th to 19th, we’re once again partnering with the Birds on the Niagara international bird festival to celebrate the incredible diversity of bird species that pass through the Niagara River Corridor. Visit the Aquarium to learn about some of the notable birds that overwinter in the region. Get a crash course in birding basics, then test your knowledge by finding and identifying images of birds located around the Aquarium.

This festival is a great opportunity to also bring awareness to the AZA SAFE: Saving Animals From Extinction program for North American songbirds. You’ll discover simple ways that can help protect those frequent visitors to your backyard bird feeders.

On Saturday, the 17th, at 9am, one of our educators, Tiffany, will be leading a guided, ASL-interpreted walk in collaboration with Birds on the Niagara and Deaf Access Services. The walk is FREE and will start at the Old Stone Chimney off the Niagara Scenic Parkway. Learn more and register HERE.

This month’s Nature Stories Trail Walk also coincides with the Birds on the Niagara programming. Join us on Sunday, the 18th, at 10:30am for a FREE guided walk focused on our feathered neighbors (pre-registration requested). Learn more HERE.

  • All activities included with price of admission.
