COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP

lakes and litter don't mix

Overview

Grab your gloves and join the Aquarium of Niagara for a free beach cleanup along the Lake Ontario shoreline. By participating in this family-friendly event, you’ll be part of a global movement to remove waste from our waterways. Over the years, volunteers have helped us remove more than 10,000 pounds of litter from our local shorelines, protecting aquatic habitats from the negative impact of trash on important ecosystems. This cleanup is part of the International Coastal Cleanup sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy and organized for New York state by the Northeast Chapter of the American Littoral Society.

  • Participation is free but please email our education team to register so we know how many people to expect.
We will provide gloves and cleanup materials. Feel free to bring your own reusable gloves.
  • Dress for the weather and expect to get a bit dirty.
  • Water and snacks will be provided.
