Our frogs and turtles are some of our visitors’ favorite residents! Some of our turtles even take trips outside of the Aquarium as animal ambassadors in our Educational Outreach programs.

- Range: Gulf of Mexico into the Atlantic along the East Coast of the United States
- Conservation: Critically Endangered

florida softshell turtle
Apalone ferox
- Diet: Snails, insects, fish, crustaceans, small birds
- Range: Southeastern U.S.
- Conservation: Least Concern

poison dart frog
Dendrobates spp.
- Diet: Insects and small invertebrates
- Range: Central and South American Rainforests
- Conservation: Least Concern

common musk turtle
Sternotherus odoratus
- Diet: Fish, mollusks, crustaceans, insects, worms, tadpoles and algae
- Range: Much of Eastern U.S. and Southeastern Canada
- Conservation: Least Concern

spotted turtle
Clemmys guttata
- Diet: Aquatic plants, small fish, mollusks, worms, insects, tadpoles, and crustaceans
- Range: The Great Lakes Region and along much of the Eastern U.S.
- Conservation: Endangered

Gray Treefrog
Dryophytes versicolor
- Diet: Insects, arachnids, snails, slugs, and even smaller frogs
- Range: Northeastern U.S. and Southeastern Canada with a small portion branching down to Eastern Texas
- Conservation: Least Concern

American Toad
Anaxyrus americanus
- Diet: Insects, worms, arachnids, slugs, and snails
- Range: Most of Eastern North America, excluding much of the Southeastern portion
- Conservation: Least Concern
