"Reptile Man" Brings Critters to Aquarium
They may not be lions, tigers and bears (oh my), but Jeff Musial’s collection of critters might still raise the hair on the back of your neck.
Musial’s annual visit to the Aquarium of Niagara is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 14. He will not be alone. His menagerie of lizards, snakes and other reptiles and amphibians will be with him to give children, young and older, a chance to see these
unusual, but fascinating animals closer than they might in the wild. Show times for “Reptile Experience” are 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m.
Critter encounters will be held in the second level Community Room. Regular sea lion demonstrations will be held in the main pool throughout the afternoon. The Aquarium’s own sea horses, octopus, sea lions, seals, penguins and more also will be on display.
Musial and his Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics have visited area schools, scout camps, daycare centers, libraries and other venues in Western New York for many years. He is expected to bring with him: snapping turtles, a bearded dragon, snakes, and maybe an alligator. Musial also plans a surprise or two. As always, members will be admitted at no charge. The Reptile Experience is included in the Aquarium’s regular admission for non-members and is sponsored by Fashion Outlets of Niagara.
Aquarium hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $9.50 for adults; $6 for children. Children 3 and under are free. For more information about this event or any others at the Aquarium, call 285-3575, Ext. 206. Year-long memberships to the Aquarium will be available to purchase in the FINesse gift shop. They make a great holiday gift.
